The Types Of Conflict In The Interlopers

This essay will explore the different conflict types in the Interlopers. This could be between two people, as in man vs. another person, or it can be within the character, like between man and self.

The conflict between men is the main one. It’s a story that revolves around hatred. Both men see it as a tradition from previous centuries. The problem is passed down from generation to another and the grandchildren are recruited to fight until it becomes personal and they hunt each other. The two enemies stared silently at each other.

A good example could be “Good,’ snarled Georg, ‘good.’ The fallen tree didn’t stop the men from fighting. Instead, they became more angry and did not think of each other. Georg snarled, “Good!” We will fight it out until the end, you, me and our foresters. No cursed outsiders can come between us.”

Ulrich realizes that fighting is not the answer to his second conflict, which is man against self. The old hatred was dying off in the pain and languor Ulrich felt.

In addition to the conflict between Individual and Society, the values of society are more important than hatred and fighting. “But, a person who was raised in a society that restraining values cannot be able to kill his neighbor cold-blooded and without speaking a single word”.

In this case, a falling tree caused the men to stop fighting, and helped them to escape the beech tree. One example is: “And, before the momentary hesitation gave way into action, Nature’s own violent deed overwhelmed them.” This is a good example: “And before the moment of hesitation had given way to action, a deed of Nature’s own violence overwhelmed them both.” This conflict between nature and man is illustrated by the movie “Wolves”.

Conflict helps us develop the ideas of characters and their communication. Conflict is important to a story because it allows us to extract key ideas.
